I got it.
I got the new Facebook profile. Then, it hit me. I’m not sure I like it – and it’s not anything to do with the new layout per se. It’s because it reminds me of something.

Ok, Facebook, if you’re going to change things up – why not actually change them up?
Sure, the Facebook Profile is all Facebook-like, and the Google Profile is very Googley – but still, notice anything achingly familiar about these two screenshots?
I do. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with this – Facebook and Google are both making their best attempts to put forward what they think their audiences care about most.
It is, perhaps, amusing that when both audiences are defined as “everyone” – you have to be prepared to look like the other guy. This is how Target and Wal-Mart were made.
